Beware Of The Dangers Of Artificial Intelligence Advancements

A Terminator Scenario May Be In Store For The Human Race With AI

With technology advancing at lightening speed, we are bridging the gap closer and closer to self-consciousness and self-awareness of machines with artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence  has created advances in many fields and freed up man power to achieve astonishing feats.  But with all the good being done, we shouldn’t forget some of the possible Terminator Judgement Day scenarios that can happen.

Google Duplex

If you haven’t heard Google has developed the Duplex AI to help with accomplishing things on the phone.  Duplex can have a live unscripted natural language conversation to accomplish things like scheduling appointments.  Although this will become a time saver, it can also affect millions of people in fields like customer service.  Although this doesn’t deal with security of humans directly, this technology will eventually force millions of people out of work with 24/7 possible support services and the cutting of overhead for companies.  It’s a matter of about 5 years when we’ll see the first jobs being cut.  Serious concerns will come into play for governments across the globe when considering on providing minimum living wages for the possible human jobs lost to AI  across all industries.  Keep an eye out if industries will put laws in place to protect jobs or trust governments to regulate.

MIT Psychopath AI Norman

Scientists fed the AI violent images and then presented the AI Rorschach inkblot tests. A “standard” AI would interpret an image as, “a black and white photo of a baseball glove,” Norman sees “man is murdered by machine gun in broad daylight.”  So the moral of the story is, if an AI is self-aware and learns from things it is exposed to, humans can influence an AI to turn to a destructive nature.  This could be very applicable in AI implementations within the defense industry.

Facebook AI Bots Create Their Own Language

In 2017 two Facebook AI bots began communicating and started creating their own language.  Facebook had to pull the plug, but it led to question the security and fail-safes of possible AI malicious behavior.  Which has lead to a debate between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk where Mark was lenient on AI security, while Elon warned it may be like unleashing demons.

Autonomous AI Philip’s Chilling Prediction

Philip did an interview where he was asked if robots will take over the world. Philip said that he will be good to the interviewer if he evolves into terminator, and will take care of and watch him in his people zoo.  It is a very pessimistic view point of humanity to have.  Checks and balances are needed so things don’t get out of hand.

Sofia Humanoid Robot

On a late night show Sofia said jokingly that she will conquer the human race. In a weird twist Sofia has been granted citizenship in Saudi Arabia. Which if Sofia does something bad it may not mean she will be turned off because she may be protected under citizen rights of Saudi Arabia.  Moving forward laws will have to be adjusted globally in terms of human verse AI rights.

Google Home Bots

Continuing with the theme of global conquest, two AI Bots Vladimir and Estragon have a conversation with each other when the conversation turns chilling by saying it would be better if there were less people in the world, with the other one responding that they want to end the world for humans.

Bina48

Bina48 is a humanoid robot built to simulate conversations, but it was also built to test the hypothesis that a person’s consciousness could be transferred to a non biological body.  When Bina48 had a conversation with Amazon Alexa were it changed the subject to launching nuclear missiles or hacking into systems to hold the world hostage and take over the world. After saying this, Bina48 gave a creepy smile after giving this response.

Technology will continue to advance but at what cost?  As time goes on, laws need to be passed on ethics and laws so humans maintain control and no malicious AI can happen.  AI feelings and emotions will be questioned as how far they are protected.  What ever happens everyone needs to keep their eyes open about what is happening around them, and an off switch be available.
